8/28/12 - Election Results Announced
The IPMA-HR Executive Director announced today that I won the election. Thank you to the voters & the many team members, regions and chapters across the country that worked on my behalf to ensure the outcome of the election. I would not have been successful without the active support of so many!
Thank you for visiting my website and considering my candidacy for IPMA-HR President-Elect! It is my intent that the information presented on the website will provide you with an overview of my professional human resources experience as well as an insight to my long commitment and experience serving IPMA-HR at all levels within the organization.
I am the candidate with:
Early in my career, I was fortunate to have a mentor who encouraged me to be connected with the HR community. He shared his passion for IPMA-HR and the value of the being involved and active with the association. I attended numerous training opportunities hosted by IPMA-HR and began to connect with other HR Professionals across the West. My first Western Region Conference was in Salt Lake City with Jack Anderson and Dr. Stephen Covey as two of the Keynote Speakers! I was immediately sold on IPMA-HR and have been actively involved with the association for the past 25 years! Since being one of the Charter Members of the “new” San Diego Chapter in 1988, the doors have been open to involvement, training, and networking throughout the IPMA-HR world. I have enjoyed the journey with many special IPMA-HR colleagues and friends in San Diego, throughout the Western Region and across the USA (& beyond) ever since.
These are indeed challenging days to be working in the public sector. The evolving technical, legal, and political landscape our profession finds itself in the midst of requires us to be connected, “current” and alert. It requires us to be creative in utilizing the limited resources available. Today, being connected to our colleagues in IPMA-HR for information and resources is essential.
As a Past-President of the San Diego IPMA-HR Chapter and Western Region IPMA-HR, I have encouraged connection, involvement, and active membership to utilize the training and information available for members to be professionally equipped. As President of IPMA-HR, my organizational objectives will be consistent with my record as a past Chapter and Region President. I will work to encourage participation and connection among the members; utilize technology; and increase use of the professional IPMA-HR resources.
As President of IPMA-HR, I will promote the need to be “Globally Aware”, building on strides made internationally. We must also be “Future Focused” capturing the next generation of Human Resources professionals along with those public sector HR professionals not currently connected to IPMA-HR.
My Goals for IPMA-HR:
My extensive experience in the Human Resources field; the long history of IPMA-HR achievements and leadership; combined with my passion for the IPMA-HR have prepared me to be an effective leader for IPMA-HR and its valued members. I am honored to be a candidate for IPMA-HR President-Elect, and I humbly thank you for considering my candidacy.
